What to Expect

What to Expect

Greetings to all in the Name of the Risen Lord!

Our worship celebrates the joy and hope, peace and presence, of our Lord Jesus Christ, raised to life for us. We welcome all, especially our guests. If you do not have a church home please consider Divine Shepherd. We would love to have you as part of our family.

How should I dress?

Our Worship Services are casual and family oriented. We're a church for people from all walks of life. Please wear whatever is most comfortable for you.

What about my kids?

Kids are welcome and encouraged to attend our Worship Services.   If needed we have rocking chairs in the Narthex and space for busy little ones where you may also hear and see the Worship Service.

When is communion served?

Communion is served weekly at every service you attend.

Can I take communion?

The Lord’s Supper is celebrated by us in the confession and gladness that, as our Lord says, He gives into our mouth not only bread and wine but His very body and blood to eat and drink for the forgiveness of sins and to strengthen our union with Him and with one another. Our Lord Jesus invites to His table those who trust His Words, repent of all sin, and set aside any refusal to forgive and love as He forgives and loves us, that they may show forth His death until He comes.

Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the blood of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty concerning the body and blood of the Lord. ( 1 Cor 11:28 ESV ) Holy Communion is a confession of the faith which is confessed at this alter.  Any who are not yet instructed, in doubt, or hold a confession differing from that of this congregation and the Lutheran Church~Missouri Synod, and yet desire to receive the sacrament, are asked to speak with Pastor Sturzenbecher.

What's the music like?

Our music is traditional.

Where do I park?

We have ample parking available.
